Finally, I got my first tow of the year yesterday. Not particularly exciting, but it did require a little beach action. Three people camped for Friday night on Dutch Island. Unfortunately, the 25 Mercury that powered their skiff did not want to start on Saturday afternoon.
Step 1: Approach and get customer to walk the 14' aluminum skiff to the leeward side of the beach.
Step 2: Recover 2 dry passengers from the Dutch Island beach. Jet boats come in real handy for this kind of op.
Step 3: Transfer all camping gear to my boat so it doesn't end up in the drink, or soaked from spray. Ditto for passengers. (It was a little choppy.)
Step 4: Drop off whole kit 'n kaboodle on the beach in the lee of URI's Bay Campus dock. Once again, the jet drive comes in real handy.
I guess this means it's time to get a new Google map of my 2009 jobs going... look for it this coming week.
