I'm packing the last of my stuff to head north. Spring has most definitely sprung here in South Carolina; the days are getting longer and warmer.

Afraid he might get left behind, Noodle packed himself into my briefcase.

Waking from hibernation...

Well, I'm stuck in a latitude about 700 miles south of Block Island, and it is warmer here than it must be at the old USCG Station that guards the entrance to the Great Salt Pond. Perhaps, though, spring is beginning in Rhode Island, and your dreams are of snow white clouds over simmering blue waters on a warm afternoon. Here is a shot from last year to whet your appetite and stoke your imagination. July 4th is only 95 days away!

As soon as I return to the island for the 2009 boating season, I'll begin posting a daily photo of the happenings around the Block on this blog.
