Safe/Sea Partners With RI DMAT to Provide On-the-Water Medical Platform at Quonset Air Show

With the annual Rhode Island National Guard Air Show less than a week away, Safe/Sea has announced that they have partnered with the RI Disaster Medical Assistance Team to provide on-the-water assets for the State Emergency Medical Services.

Working in close collaboration with state officials, it was decided that the speed and maneuverability of Safe/Sea’s vessels would provide the perfect platform upon which to conduct any on-the-water medical services that might be required from DMAT during the show. In addition, their constant presence in and around Narragansett Bay makes them well received and well recognized by Rhode Island boaters as an assistance provider.

RI DMAT is a non-profit organization started in 1999 with the goal to recruit and train medical health professionals to respond to public health emergencies in the State of Rhode Island. With over 800 registered volunteer health professionals, RI DMAT has become an integral part of Rhode Island’s and the Nation’s emergency preparedness plans and response.

“This is a great opportunity for everyone”, says Safe/Sea Captain Phil LeBlanc, “We’re proud to be of assistance to DMAT and the general public. Our boats are the perfect platform to provide this service, and now DMAT can respond to almost any on-the-water emergency in the spectator fleet quickly and effectively.”
