Safe/Sea Webcam Goes LIVE at Block Island Boat Basin

25-Jun-2010

Safe/Sea is proud to announce that we have installed a live webcam overlooking the Great Salt Pond in partnership with the Block Island Boat Basin! The camera gives an overall view of the pond from the roof of the Boat Basin's Dock Shack. Much of the town mooring field is visible, along with the entrance to the harbor, far in the distance.

Now, local boaters can check out what the traffic and weather look like at the island before getting underway! Even if you're not heading out to the island, it's always fun to see what's going on out on the waters of the Great Salt Pond. The live image refreshes every 5 seconds and we'll keep the camera online as long as the internet connection at the Boat Basin is active this summer.

Mr. Jalbert, The webcams run off a javascript plugin. Some browsers (especially Internet Explorer) randomly block java applets from running. Safari, Chrome, and Firefox (all free browsers) run these applets with great performance! Hope this helps!
