Almar Boats' Mike Sandeman Receives 2002 Safe/Sea Colleague of the Year Award at End-of-Season Gala
Duffy’s Restaurant again hosted the gala annual Safe/Sea Ball in early December 2002. As always, the event was much anticipated by our staff members, nearby affiliated towers and local maritime professionals that are part of our company's success.
This years Ball featured a Jimmy Buffet theme. It was complete with Jimmy Novak who provided the musical atmosphere and superb decorations by our own Barb and Phil.
Visitors were welcomed from as far away as Los Angeles, CA and Tacoma, WA.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Safe/Sea Colleague of the Year 2002 award, which was bestowed on Mike Sandeman, Vice President of Almar.
Of all the great people who build our new RIB rescue vessels, Mike has played the key role in the development of our fleet. The following is the citation which appeared on Mike’s award:
By Special Order of the Board of Directors, and on the Occasion of the 2002 Safe/Sea Ball, Safe/Sea Bestows Upon Mike Sandeman the Designation of Safe/Sea Colleague of the Year 2002, In recognition of Mike's lifelong dedication to excellence, hard work and a down right good time.
From Scotland to New Zealand to Canada to Tacoma, Mike has blazed a trail based on caring for his family, his customers and his associates.
Many thanks to all of the people who helped make 2002 a successful year for Safe/Sea, and especially Barb and Capt. Phil, who put so much effort into making the 2002 Safe/Sea Ball a memorable event!
