Hospice Regatta Weekend, the major fundraising event for Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, kicks off in grand style on Friday night, September 10, with a sponsor appreciation party to thank HHCRI’s prominent patrons and corporate supporters. A distance race will also be run for other PHRF rated boats, both spinnaker and non-spinnaker. Sailors interested in racing are still eligible to register. After the race on Saturday, sailors and merrymakers will meet at the Museum of Yachting at Fort Adams for cocktails, dinner, dancing and awards. The Lobster Boil is open to the public. Tickets are $60 per person and must be purchased in advance by calling HHCRI’s Development Office at 727-7035.
Each year the support for our Regatta grows. This year we anticipate surpassing all previous years in the number of boats participating and in dollars raised, states Carole Sheehan, Director of Development. All funds raised from the Regatta support the care of our patients and their families and help to bridge the gap between the cost of services and insurance coverage.
