Proceeds from calendar to benefit local charities

Anyone who has visited the shops in Wickford Village over the past few months has probably returned home telling stories of nude men all over town. No, they are not making this up, and no, these "free spirits" are not wandering the streets.

Inspired by successes elsewhere, Wickford has produced its very own fund raising "Men of Wickford" calendar. The gentlemen chosen for each month are all from local businesses including: Gelart of Wickford, The World Store, Wickford Lumber, JW Graham, Wickford Flowers, Pleasant Street Wharf, Gardner's Wharf Seafood, Wickford Mobil, Moore Properties, Ryan's Market, Green River Silver Company, Brunelle Family Chiropractic, Harborside Grille, and yes, Safe/Sea.

As you can see from our picture, everyone had a good time. The shoot was done right on our boats at Brewer Wickford Cove Marina, and at 6:00 am to prevent prying eyes. However, we were told afterward that a few local residents were early risers and the binoculars were out all over the harbor.

The calendar has been a big hit, with all proceeds benefiting North Kingstown Food Pantry, North Kingstown High School Booster Club, and the North Kingstown Special Olympics. Anyone seeing Capt. Andy Casey, Capt. Phil LeBlanc, and Capt. Don Johnson on the water this summer, is invited to ask them about the calendar and attempt to make them blush.
