New Ruling Could Greatly Impact all Recreational Boaters!
The BoatU.S. Government Affairs office has recently published a court ruling about an EPA water discharge bill that could force all recreational boaters to obtain another permit. Please see below for all links to the full decision, what it means for boaters, and how you can get involved.
Recovery of the Classic Sailing Yacht Amorita
During the Museum of Yachting’s Robert H. Tiedemann Classic Yacht Regatta on July 7th, 2007, the Amorita was involved in a tradgic accident. While approaching a mark, the Amorita , along with another New York Thirty Alera, were struck from behind by Sumurun, a 94ft classic ketch. As a result, Amorita was hit amidships by Sumurun, and sank immediately in 55 feet of water off Beavertail Point at the entrance to Narragansett Bay.

Salvage of the S/V Andiamo
At approximately 1600 hours on May 4, 2007, the Safe/Sea Emergency Response Center received a call from the S/V Andiamo. The Captain of the Andiamo explained that the mast and rigging of his 28 foot Sabre sailboat had failed while underway and was hanging over the side of the vessel.

Nor' Easter Hits Southern New England/MV Hardshell Salvage
As everyone in Southern New England is surely aware, last weekend's weather brought heavy rains and high winds to our area. Due to the severity of the weather conditions, Safe/Sea was on full alert in the event our assistance was needed. As it turned out, that assistance was requested Monday afternoon for a boat sunk at its mooring at Sandy Point, Prudence Island.

2007 Providence Boat Show a success for Safe/Sea!
For the first time in recent memory, the Providence Boat Show wasn't hindered by sleet, snow, or bitter cold weather. With more than 300 boats, and over 280 exhibitors, the traditionally full show had more to offer attendees than ever before. As always, the Safe/Sea booth was a busy place, and this year's membership special was a huge success.
