Safe/Sea Installs Model Display at T.F. Greene Airport
On
Thursday August 10th, Safe/Sea unveiled its new promotional display at
Providence Airport, on the Delta/Southwest concourse, directly in front
of the T.G.I. Friday's restaurant.
The
centerpiece of the display is a museum quality, 1:12 scale model of
Safe/Sea's 33 foot by 12 foot M/V Safe/Sea Salvor. Every detail of the
actual working vessel was reproduced, including the electronics,
engines, jet drives, inflatable collar, lighting, and graphics. The
model was built by Twenty-First Century Models, and took over two years
to complete.
The model rests on a
stainless steel pedestal custom built by DJ Enterprises. Embedded in
all four sides of the pedestal are 7 inch LCD monitors which play video
of several dramatic rescues performed by Safe/Sea in recent years.
Signage is included, recognizing the full sized builder and major
component suppliers. These companies include: ALMAR, manufacturer of
the vessel, Hamilton Jet, manufacturer of the water-jet propulsion
units, Yanmar Diesel, manufacturer of the engines, Wing, manufacturer
of the inflatable collar, and Furuno, provider of the vessel's Radar.
